This journey is inspired by Socrates, the fly of ancient Athens, the teacher of Plato and millions of thinkers worldwide. It is said that Socrates adopted one of the maxims from the Temple of Apollo at Delphi: "Know thyself."
This journey is inspired by Socrates, the gadfly of ancient Athens, the teacher of Plato and of millions of thinkers worldwide. It is said that Socrates adopted one of the maxims from the Temple of Apollo at Delphi: "Know thyself." If one does not know oneself, it is difficult to achieve a good life, because one will not be connected to one's innermost desires, fears, dreams, and plans.
Of course, we are constantly changing, and there are dark parts of who we are that we will never fully discover, but to say that there is nothing that you are, or that there is no way to understand who you are and what you want, is mere naivety and an escape. This journey unfolds through three personal themes: your Interests, your Actions, and your Life, and for each of these, you will write three pieces.
The product of this exercise will be nine pieces about your path to self-knowledge. I invite you to write as much as you can. Remember, the more you write, the more you will incorporate that knowledge into your inner world, and thus, the more you will develop your cognition.
